  4. Intern Schedule: As an intern, you are required to work 12-20 hours per week, for a minimum of 200 hours total. You and your direct supervisor will determine your specific schedule. If you are unable to come in at your scheduled time, please let us know as far in advance as possible. If you have to be out unexpectedly, please call and let us know. Simply not showing up will reflect poorly on your intern evaluation and habitual absence may result in expulsion from the Internship Program.

At this time, DOM does not honor any hours accumulated when working from home. All hours to be counted should take place at Denver Open Media studios, or on-location when doing a production shoot.

    Please update intern hours here.

Weekly Emails: As an intern in Deproduction/Denver Open Media’s Internship Program, you are required to send a WEEKLY email (by 5pm every Friday) to both the Education Director and your direct supervisor, stating what you've been working on, what was accomplished that week and what you’ll be working on next, if your current project is completed. Please also include your updated intern hours so we can be aware of how you are progressing.

Intern Benefits: DOM interns are allowed to take any and all DOM workshops and will enjoy an Unlimited Membership for the term of their internship (so long as they are certified to use the desired equipment and/or facility). This Unlimited Membership will have the same benefits AND restrictions as for our normal users unless specific arrangements have been made ahead of time. Interns should coordinate attending workshops with their supervisor so scheduling conflicts do not arise and all desired workshops are completed within the term of the internship.

Interns who complete 200 hours will receive a free Field, Editor or Studio Membership for the remainder of the year (the year beginning on the day their internship began.) Interns who would like to maintain their Unlimited Membership status (after their internship is complete) must volunteer at least 12 hours per month. This upgraded membership will continue only so long as the intern consistently volunteers this amount of time at DOM.
